I have researched which parts are the most beneficial to humans over the last few months, here are my findings. The Aloe Vera plant is mentioned in the New Testament (John 19:39-40 And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes... ). It is unclear whether the aloes described in the Bible are derived from the Aloe Vera inner gel or another part of the plant. Aloe Vera is widely used in alternative medicine, and cosmetics, it has been widely marketed as having healing, rejuvenating and soothing properties. The scientific studies in some cases are conflicting, although there is evidence that Aloe Vera extracts may be useful in the treatment of diabetes and elevated blood lipids in humans. These positive effects are thought to be due to the presence of compounds such as polysaccharides, mannans, anthraquinones and lectins.

There are many arguments about how good Aloe Vera is for us humans. Some products being sold on the market, use the leaf of the Aloe Vera plant, stating that theirs must be the most abundant in the good properties. However, cellulose and bacteria are present in Aloe Vera leaves, just under the rind and on the surface of the leaf. Humans and many other animals lack an enzyme to break the beta-linkages, therefore no vertebrate can digest cellulose directly, because the appropriate enzymes that breakdown the beta acetal linkages are lacking. Many manufacturers of "whole leaf" use carbon filtration or other ways to filter out all the impurities, then producing a liquidised whole leaf product.

Aloe vera Inner gel

The pure inner gel of the plant has an abundance of vitamins and minerals, including the rare vitamin B12 - one of only two vegetables sources available. This makes Aloe Vera Gel a vital supplement for vegetarians and vegans, Folic acid, recommended by the Department of Health for all women planning in a pregnancy, is also found naturally in the gel. In total it provides seven essential amino acids which are directly linked to cell growth, and which cannot be manufactured within the body from other sources.

It is a fact, that there are many nutrients in this liquid dietary food, that it would be difficult to catalogue all the benefits that have been reported. However, once the leaf is cut , the process of oxidation begins and if left unchecked, would rob the precious gel of many of its beneficial properties. Stabilization is the method of preserving the gel, in a state as close as possible to its original form, without losing the original potency and effectiveness of the fresh leaf. Without stabilization, spoilage would occur, even under refrigeration.

Forever Living Products is the largest grower and processor of Aloe Vera in the world, and extract by hand the inner leaf gel. They own the patents on the stabilization process, enabling it to develop an expertise in Aloe that is second to none. To back all this up, they even offer a 60 day money back guarantee on all of their products.
